In digital transformation change is inevitable. Adopting as an organization successfully and frequently to an ever-changing dynamic and digital world is hard, and standstill is a threat. I provide frameworks to understand and manage complexity, establish frequent and successful change, and create sustainable value and velocity in organisations at any scale.

What I have learned: Strategies are often high-level papers that provide no evidence of implementation and in fact regularly ignore them. Therefore, “strategy is commodity, execution is an art” (Peter Drucker): Having a strategic plan is a common practice among organizations, but the true differentiator lies in the ability to execute that plan effectively.

Successful execution goes beyond simply following a set of instructions. Execution involves not only following the steps outlined in the strategy but also adapting, innovating, and overcoming challenges in a way that is not easily replicable. Successful execution requires a combination of skills, experience, and the ability to navigate the complexities of real-world implementation.

My approach is neither top-down nor bottom-up. I'm  convinced that thinking from a customer’s perspective and along the value chain in client’s organizations is the preferred approach. For the components of the value chain, I identify concrete capabilities in functional, process and organizational terms that can be mapped to technologies, later to workstreams and providers, and finally, to teams and roadmaps.

I use a language everybody can understand, and I create organizational knowledge rather than individual knowledge. I define a no-nonsense and team-friendly approach to building and running software systems. I  leverage the capacities of agile frameworks to promote iterative development, allowing teams to respond quickly to changing requirements. I empower cross-functional teams that include members with diverse skills and responsibilities to make faster decisions and deliver results more efficiently.
